ABA GENERAL MEETING MINUTES MARCH 8, 2023 VIA ZOOM

  3. Welcome to K - Welcome to k was put on by the new Director of Instruction, Kate Colter . She talked about ABA, Autism and support for kids on the spectrum.
  1. Cross Training and Next year
    Home to School Collaboration document and ABA renewal form’s feedback was great.
    Combined position will no longer be referred to EA or ABA SW, it will be referred to IESW ( Inclusive Education Support Worker) Seniority comes in effect.
    All employees that are in continuing positions will not be posted, only new students for posting. ABA preferred posting will still exist . Approximately70 new hire Eas, 3 new ABAs.
    Half of Eas has completed cross training the rest will be completing it by the rest of the year. Takes about 7 hours to complete it.
  2. Documents to review
    There no longer will be Needs Assessment Document.
    ABA renewal forms are due end of March.
    Documents are kept at school level.
    Colin is working on a pamphlet on navigating ABA that will be distributed by two parents in May.

IEP
Julie Grundy will be doing IEP presentation and will be recorded for parents and new parents.

Extracurricular Activities
Talk to school principal, there is always a teacher sponsor and room for supervision.

Questions
Will psych-ed testing be done on all students?
No, Only kids that goes to bases.
Is district data team same in elementary and HS?
Yes

Escalation Process
CRT – IST – Principal – DP – Director of Instruction – Area Super – Assistant Super- Superintendent – Section 11 Appeal

Questions
If no needs assessment, how do they know how many hours each school get?
Will the job postings for ABA students be selected by IESW first before being presented at the EA job posting?
It will be selected based on seniority but will be flagged with the consultants name and any other challenging behaviors etc.
